Oh hell yes.
I’m not sure how I missed this, but Games Workshop have commissioned the indie studio Full Control to make a game of Space Hulk.
It looks like its going to be a mixture of the turn based gameplay much like the boardgame itself and more interactive game play. The devs have mentioned a lot about being inspired by the original XCOM game. If it approaches even half of that games fun we should be on to a winner.
At this point I’m assuming the arm of GW in charge of licensing out GW IP to make videogames must be independent enough from the main studios to avoid too much interference. Like ForgeWorld and Black Library, its only the games workshop subsidiaries that are producing much of worth at the moment.
Anyway, enough soapboxing from me. You can read an interview Rock, Paper Shotgun have conducted with Thomas Hentschel Lund, boss of Full Control here. He confirms there will be multi player, a focus on producing a nice claustrophobic atmosphere and that they are still working on making a lot of the game.
Space Hulk will hopefully be out in 2013.
Well, I hope it’s better than the old SPACE HULK. Damn thing didn’t work on the system it was made for and still doesn’t work on the system I have now…upteen years later.
Have you tried an emulator at all?
