Life In Plastic: A Look Back

Since I couldn’t think of a good April Fools’ gag this year (besides, last year’s is gonna be hard to match), why don’t we take a look at something else?  EMBARRASSING OLDER WORK.

My first two toy reviews ever were published on Michael Crawford’s Review Site in 2005.  The very first was for some Marvel figures, but today we are looking at my second.

Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Mustafarian Guard

Well.  I still own the figure.  I still like it.  The articulation bothers me a little more now.  My writing style has certainly matured since then, though I can see that I still fall back on a lot of the same writing crutches as before.  But the main thing?

Holy yikes, did I ever think this was good photography?

Aaagh!

COME ON, FOCUS!

Maybe I should be a little nicer to myself.  This was years ago.  I have lived in three houses since then.  But wow.  Just wow.  Let this be a lesson to everyone: It is perfectly okay to suck at something.  As long as you keep practicing, you will improve and no longer suck at it.

And, just for kicks and giggles, I pulled the Mustafarian out of storage and took a new, fancy-schmancy, artsy-fartsy photo.  It took three light sources if you count the spotlight on the lightning effect:

  1. Hmm is anyone else encountering problems with the images on this blog loading?
I’m trying to figure out if its a problem on my end or if it’s the blog.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

  2. My brother suggested I would possibly like this website.
He used to be entirely right. This post actually made my day.
You can not consider simply how much time I had
    spent for this information! Thanks!

  3. I have been surfing online more than 2 hours today,
yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It’s pretty worth enough for me.
In my view, if all webmasters and bloggers made good content as
you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.
