Pictures and details from the Captain America: Winter Soldier set

Probably not a shot from the actual film. Not unless this film is about to get really meta.

Looks like ol’ Cap is feeling a bit gloomy.

Marvel Studios have released a new picture from the set of Captain America 2, showing our hero looking certainly more gloomy than he was in the rather upbeat first film. Considering the storyline the film is meant to be based upon, I’m not too surprised.

At the same time of the photo release, Marvel let out a few more details of the film as well. I’ve omitted certain parts of it for those who aren’t familiar with the comics and who want to be surprised by the big reveal of the second film (what I wouldn’t give for the big two to stop revealing key plot points several weeks or months before they release things). Anyway, here it is:

Captain America: The Winter Soldier” will pick-up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” features an outstanding supporting cast that includes Anthony Mackie (“The Hurt Locker,” “Million Dollar Baby”) as Sam Wilson/Falcon, Cobie Smulders (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “How I Met Your Mother”) as Agent Maria Hill, Frank Grillo (“Zero Dark Thirty”) as Brock Rumlow and Georges St-Pierre (“Death Warrior”) as Georges Batroc

Looks like Marvel won’t be having their villains called silly names like they are in the comic books, so I guess we will have to just stick with quips about how Georges Batroc character can leap quite well. Quite sensible I recon.
