Japan Seems To Get The Right Idea Over What Freedom Means

"U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!"

“U.S.A! U.S.A! U.S.A!”

Sony’s in-house SCE Japan Studio development team is currently busy in developing a game called “Freedom Wars”. With an-ever-so patriotic title like that, you would half expect that it’s going to be a Republican right-winger’s wet dream, right? Perhaps a game starring an uber patriotic (read: redneck) hero named “Sam Freedom” or something, who was tasked to clean up the great country of the United States from liberals, gays, and Mexicans with a healthy dose of freedom (read: guns)!

But it turns out to be a Monster Hunter-esque game. I guess Japan Studio knows that Battlefield and Modern Warfare already cornered the “Dumbass Redneck” market, so they decided to go the classier road.

If you are one of the seven people in the United States who have ever played Gods Eater Burst on the PSP, then you will recognize the uncanny similarity of play style between this game and that. What this means is that there will be uber powerful monsters with so many unfair advantages pitted against you and your worthless little pea-shooters. The only way to win against your overbearing powerful foe is to use all the limited resources you have, including a grappling hook, and cooperate with your mates to bring down the lumbering titan with the short temper and presumably low-IQ brain.

So basically, it’s like living under the Bush Administration all over again.
