Your Daily Nerd Thing: Ghost Rider B.C.

Welcome back to Your Daily Nerd Thing where every weekday we bring you a different nerdy thing we found on the internet.  Last week Marvel showed us the first images of a prehistoric team of Avengers.  Over the weekend they also released this image of a prehistoric Ghost Rider on a mammoth.

Again this is a thing that’s happening.  Now it has been established that throughout history there have been many other Ghost Riders who have ridden on various vehicles and animals.  It appears they are framing this one to be the first Ghost Rider and yet another member of the 1,000,000 BC Avengers team.  Usually the animal mounts of a Ghost Rider also have flaming skull heads but this mammoth has all its flesh and instead has flame glowing eyes and flame lightning stuff along with plenty of actual vengeance fire.  Lets take one more look at the others shall we.

I’m not sure how much actual lore there is on Agamotto besides that he is famous for that Eye pendant but apparently he lived in 1,000,000 BC.  The Phoenix has been around since the dawn of the Marvel Universe and there is plenty of lore on it in several alien cultures so it could have visited lots of worlds but even in 1,000,000 BC it was fond of redheads.  The Black Panther is the also the avatar of the Panther God so sure he could have been around back then.  And since the Iron Fist power comes from the ancient dragon Shou-Lao he could probably have been alive back then.  And finally there is Starbrand.  I know nothing about Starbrand even though I have been reading Marvel Comics since I was a kid.  I know the character Starbrand was in some Avengers comics but I don’t know what his deal is or why he has been deemed important enough to be one of these ancient Avengers or why this one looks like the Hulk.  Anyway I hope this event is worth it and doesn’t break continuity too badly but hey its comics they can survive even it if does.
